Explore the Best of Japan’s Great Outdoors

With the temperatures finally starting to drop, it’s great time to get out and spend some time exploring parts near and far. Given how many ways there are to enjoy what the country has to offer these days, you might not know where to start. That’s why GoConnect has you covered with our special dedicated to getting out and about.

This time of year is also ideal for seeing more of Japan, and there are no shortage of spots to take in. To mix the pleasures of the great outdoors with the creature comforts of luxury accommodations, you can try glamping at one of the many locations we have to share. Another option is hitting the road and traveling around Japan in an artisanally crafted camper van from Dream Drive

Or you can opt for fancier hotels, such as the Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoka, which offers the opportunity to take in views of Mount Fuji and delve into the world of high-performance motorsports. Should you want to head north, you can visit the upscale getaway town of Karuizawa and stay at Hotel Indigo Karuizawa, which features a villa-like experience in a destination that has been popular amongst Tokyoites for generations. Also in Nagano Prefecture, the Hakuba Hotel Group offers a variety of accommodations that are perfect for enjoying the stunning scenery of the Hakuba Valley area.

While you’re around Tokyo, you can find plenty of places where you can enjoy your meals al fresco, and we share a number of them in our article about outdoor dining. And if you’re keen to have a refreshing drink on a night in town, check out our lineup of some of the city’s best beer gardens.

Finally, you can find plenty of hotels and resorts to visit in our site’s A-List section. This ranges from spots right in Tokyo like the Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills to far-off Kagoshima, where you can stay at the peaceful Sankara Hotel & Spa Yakushima.

Here’s wishing you the best as the seasons start to change—and we’ll see you out there!
