This is a six-week comprehensive workshop on negotiations plus access to a state-of-the-art digital platform to practice and learn.

Why should you join?

Negotiation is an interdependent decision-making process. Viewing negotiation from this perspective has multiple implications:

  1. We must have a reliable approach to decision-making.
  2. We need to navigate the mixed-motive reality of negotiation. A mixed-motive approach means that we need to collaborate with other stakeholders to maximize value creation and then compete with the same stakeholders to claim as much of that value as possible.
  3. We must identify and work with all the critical stakeholders to reach a sound and sustainable outcome. This requires developing a systemic perspective to map all stakeholders, those visible and those not visible, and understand their interests and motivations.

Our workshop offers a solid theoretical framework to work with these challenges, action learning simulations to learn by doing, and digital tools to help you prepare to navigate any negotiation process.

To accompany this training, we will give a free six-month subscription to our Negotiation Digital Suite. This will provide you with access to the program, the action learning negotiation simulations, digital tools (Negotiation Canvas and Negotiation Process), all the necessary learning materials, and personalized feedback. You will also be able to work with our Negotiation Coaching Suite on your real negotiations.

Our program addresses the main brutal facts we face in negotiation:

  • 80% of executives leave, on average, 25% of value when they negotiate. They tend to satisfy, reach acceptable deals instead of optimizing and building the outcome that allows them to capture the most value (and that is also best for their counterpart).
  • 70% of success in negotiation is the result of good preparation.
  • No matter how intelligent or how much expertise we have, we are all highly vulnerable to cognitive biases. At best, we make suboptimal decisions; at worst, we make terrible mistakes. Intuition is not suitable for strategic decision making.
  • Our rational brain works until it does not. Our survival brain is not designed to make strategic decisions. When flooded, the survival brain overrides the rational brain.
  • Covid-19 forced a new reality on us; the new normal is not going to be anything like the old normal.
  • Organizations train individuals, hoping that this will translate into increasing the institutional capacity; this is not true.
  • Experience is not necessarily the right way to learn; the survivor´s bias makes us believe it is.
