Here are my favourite winners and runners-up from the latest annual Nature in Focus Photography competition that showcases precious moments in natural history and aims to raise awareness of key conservation issues.

The above image by Hira Punjabi won a Special Mention in the Wildscape & Animals in Their Habitat category: The landscape an animal inhabits and its natural environment. “At sunrise in Hokkaido, Japan, red-crowned cranes move through a veil of mist, their graceful forms resembling brushstrokes on a canvas.”
