SEGO Initiative
sego initiative

Founded in 2014, SEGO Initiative has grown out of the Fujisawa Beach Cleaning Project that started in 2009. The Project is SEGO’s main marine—or Satoumi—focus.

The Project has developed into three key pillars: volunteering, public education (citizen science and art), and Clean S.E.A. (reconnecting with the marine environment via sailing).

SEGO also has an inland—or Satoyama—focus that involves volunteering and supporting direct market access in a smaller Organic Farming Project.

Volunteer Work

We are always looking for volunteers skilled in communications, video, photography, fundraising, IT and web design.

We offer travel, meals and a small stipend for interns.
