Japan Mobility Show 2023: The Future of Transportation Unveiled

By Brady Doran

Technological innovation is a driving force in propelling Japan's industries forward. The Japanese transportation industry stands out as one of the most innovative and advanced in the world, with startups and established companies pushing boundaries. Starting on October 26, hundreds of Japanese companies are gathering to showcase the future of mobility technology at the Japan Mobility Show.

Four hundred and seventy-five businesses are set to showcase their innovative tech this year at Tokyo Big Sight from October 26 through November 5. The Japan Mobility Show will feature the participation of companies in the automotive industry as well as companies and startups from other industries.

Tokyo Future Tour

Various events and discussions will be held during the week. One of the events happening is the Tokyo Future Tour, a cross-industry effort to show how different types of new mobility will help create an exciting future. The tour will consist of four interactive areas featuring four distinct themes (Life/Emergency/Play/Food). Each one will showcase how new technology will impact life in the future. For example, the Emergency & Mobility area, in collaboration with the new Godzilla -1,0 film, will demonstrate how new mobility tech will provide urgent assistance in emergencies, including natural disasters.

Startup Future Factory

The Startup Future Factory event will feature a pitch contest and business matching event. Over 100 startups have signed up to pitch their visions for the future of mobility, and business matching events will include discussions on topics such as disaster prevention, the aging population, and low birth rates. These events aim to bring together established companies in the field of mobility technology with fresh minds from startups across Japan. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness some of the industry's most creative minds collaborate to build a better Japan.

Experience Music, Fun, and Motocross

Alongside the business events held at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show is the H2 Energy Festival. Music groups—including Ballistik Boyz, the Rampage, and more—are set to perform. If music isn’t for you, the event also features a live comedy show with popular comedians from the Yoshimoto Kogyo agency. These acts will combine comedy and mobility, allowing viewers to learn about next-gen technology while laughing. Don’t miss out on these events on October 28 and November 1. Click here to learn more. The H2 festival isn't the only music coming to the Japan Mobility Show. The world's largest Japanese hip-hop festival, the HOPE, is coming to the Japan Mobility Show on November 2. See artists like DJ Kekke and Bleeker Chrome perform on the big stage.

The festivities don’t stop there. The event has a motorsports arena, a gourmet food hall, and a place for the kids to play. Experience an incredible weekend at the Japan Mobility Show as you witness industry leaders and startups who are showcasing innovation, collaboration, and the future of mobility technology in Japan.
