Bingo Sports Hosts Largest Live Auction in Years
BINGO SPORTS Japan, BH Auctions and SMBC joined forces last month to deliver an auction with style. This was their largest live auction since 2019 and it certainly did not disappoint. The location was at the newest City Circuit on Tokyo Bay waterfront in the Odaiba New City area.
Rows of meticulously maintained vintage cars lined half the track and people raced EV go-karts on the other half. At the entrance to the impressively stocked showroom, a striking drag-racing car sculpture by Ryuichi Ohira produced a cold mist, creating a veiled effect. Inside, the showroom featured top selections from the BINGO Collection, including a black and white 1961 Chevrolet Corvette C1 with a red interior, a red 1957 Porsche 356 A Speedster, and a silver 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB, all in pristine condition.
BINGO SPORTS specializes in original 90s supercars, low-mileage Japanese classics and the latest hypercars. The team uses their extensive knowledge and resources to help enthusiasts find their dream vehicles. As the exclusive dealers for Koenigsegg and Bugatti-Rimac in Japan, BINGO remains connected with premier manufacturers and innovative minds in the automotive industry.
BINGO also shines a spotlight on Japanese motorsports through BINGO Media, offering coverage of Super GT and Super Formula on the SportsNavi platform. According to owner and CEO, Shinji Takei, BINGO’s goal is to deliver the exhilaration of car ownership by prioritizing authentic value. BINGO’s approach ensures that buyers find the perfect cars to significantly enhance their collections. In addition to the 31 vehicles on offer, the auction featured unique items like Red Bull Racing parts and a racing-inspired piece by contemporary artist Shinsuke Ikeuchi. The proceeds support earthquake reconstruction efforts and spinal cord injury research.
The auction highlighted the accessibility and variety of entertainment options at City Circuit Tokyo Bay. This 11,000 square meter venue, which can accommodate more than 1,500 people, has hosted events like the Super Formula Kickoff and Rally Japan Fan Meeting. Equipped with air-conditioned units, lockers, powder rooms and showers, the space or portions of it can be rented for various events, including birthday parties and work functions. VIP memberships offer access to exclusive rooms with terrace seating overlooking the tracks.
City Circuit Tokyo Bay features EV racing karts, capable of reaching 70 km/h on the outdoor Sky Track or indoors on the Lightning Track. These karts, adjustable for different speeds and ages, are environmentally friendly and promote zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). The facility, the largest EV kart venue in Japan, helps reduce noise and exhaust emissions, making it accessible within city limits and safe for all who want to develop high-level racing skills. Soon, a VR-based racing simulator, the Cyber Track, will be available for all skill levels.
This collaborative event succeeded at bringing together a community of car enthusiasts and collectors in a setting that perfectly encapsulates the excitement and passion of motorsports. The collaboration between Bingo Sports Japan, BH Auctions and SMBC showcased the very best of what the industry has to offer, from vintage classics to cutting-edge hypercars, all within the innovative and eco-friendly environment of the City Circuit Tokyo Bay. The auction set a new standard for automotive events in Japan, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the next opportunity to experience luxury and the thrill of high-speed automotives.
