In December 2024, Hersey Shiga Media announced an exclusive charity auction and luncheon in support of Race Against Dementia (RAD), the pioneering global initiative founded by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart. This event will be held on April 2nd at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend. Targeting motorsports enthusiasts, philanthropists and medical research advocates, the luncheon promises an unparalleled experience while supporting a critical cause.
About Sir Jackie Stewart
The three-time Formula 1 World Champion and motorsports icon is known for his advocacy in racing safety and his relentless commitment to dementia research. Following his wife’s diagnosis, he founded Race Against Dementia to drive scientific breakthroughs in combating the disease. His global influence continues to bring attention to this urgent cause.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience for F1 Fans
A charity auction hosted by Sir Jackie Stewart will include a full Formula 1 weekend tour, where guests will enjoy behind-the-scenes access and unparalleled insights as the legendary three-time F1 World Champion meets former and current F1 drivers.
Top auction items include:
- X2 Paddock Passes for Saturday and Sunday for a F1 Grand Prix weekend
- Goodwood Festival of Speed experience with Sir Jackie Stewart in 2025
- More exclusive experiences and F1 items, such as a rare original Safety Car racing suit signed by Bernd Maylander himself
In addition to the main auction, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in raffles featuring exclusive F1 merchandise and giveaways from teams and drivers, ensuring that many guests walk away with a unique souvenir.
Supporting Innovation in Dementia Research

All proceeds from the auction and luncheon will be directed towards RAD’s Early Career Researchers program, funding groundbreaking scientific initiatives aimed at preventing and curing dementia. In addition, a portion of the donations will support select Japanese dementia research institutions, fostering international collaboration and enabling Japanese researchers to visit RAD facilities in the UK for further training and knowledge exchange.
Dementia affects more than 55 million people worldwide, with nearly 10 million new cases each year. Without medical breakthroughs, one in three people born today will eventually develop dementia. This event aims to accelerate advancements in dementia research, offering hope to millions worldwide.
Invitation to Sponsors and Donors
Hersey Shiga Media extends an invitation to sponsors, donors and high net worth individuals to be part of this extraordinary event. Sponsorship opportunities include premium recognition at the event and the chance to align with one of the most impactful causes in both global health and motorsports.
