Living City Keihanna Launch at Kyoto Smart City Expo 2026
This October, Living Best and ATR (Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International) will officially launch Living City Keihanna in Keihanna Science City.
This will create a new pathway for promising global longevity innovations to move from research and validation into real-world trials, implementation and wider adoption in Japan.
Taking place as part of the Kyoto Smart City Expo, the two-day event will showcase selected innovations and explore which solutions could move forward toward further validation, trials and implementation in Keihanna.
The Living City model aims to connect the full innovation journey:
Human Need → Innovation → Validation → Trial → Optimisation → Adoption → Scale
A key moment will take place on October 9 at 11:30am, when Living Best and ATR hold the official MOU signing. The program will also feature presentations from Dominic Carter on the Living City vision and Debbie Howard on major global longevity trends and initiatives, including how these insights could inform implementation in Keihanna.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the new designs firsthand at the Living Best booth throughout the event.
