Hawaii Comes to Okinawa in A Tale of Two Halekulanis

With the opening of Halekulani Okinawa in July 2019, a storied name in the resort world made its way from its flagship—Halekulani in Waikiki—to the shores of Japan. In recognition of this connection that extends across the Pacific Ocean, the two resorts will be linked during a special event held at Halekulani Okinawa—A Tale of Two Halekulanis. From April 9 to 18, Halekulani Okinawa will be offering guests the opportunity to experience the charms of Halekulani in Waikiki, through musical and dance performances, delicious cuisine, and much more.

Island Sights and Sounds

One of the highlights of the campaign will be an authentic hula show and workshop by the acclaimed hula dancer, Kanoe Miller, who has been performing at Halekulani in Waikiki for decades. A special broadcast of her dancing, which was filmed exclusively for the event, will be shown on the outdoor terrace or on the TVs in the guest rooms. In addition, Miller will hold a hula workshop, streamed live from Waikiki. Should your tastes run to arts and crafts, and you’d love to add a touch of aloha décor to your home, you can also drop in on a workshop to make your own Hawaiian quilt photo frame or macramé wall tapestry. Sunset Bar SPECTRA will be serving beverages made famous at Halekulani in Waikiki, as well as a piña colada-inspired mixology cocktail.
