Fun, 75-Minute Ikebana Experience at a Peaceful Gallery

Most people think of ikebana as simply a Japanese style of arranging flowers—it is much more than that. Ikebana is a powerful means of self-expression that develops our ability to see in new ways.

Ikebana artist Mika Otani, who leads Atelier Soka, began studying ikebana when she was 20 years old and apprenticed under the great ikebana artist, Soukou Tomita. Mika Otani has been studying ikebana for more than 30 years. She is a certified ikebana master and is a first grade professor (riji in Japanese) authorized by the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, one of the top ikebana schools in Japan. She has made arrangements for movie studios, events, restaurants, and fashion shows. Mika Otani has more than 60,000 followers on Instagram and is one of the most popular ikebana artists.
