Alternatively, if you are looking to enhance your business skills, JMEC is also accepting applications for individuals who wish to participate in the program. By joining, you’ll receive comprehensive training in researching and developing a professional business plan. This “Mini MBA”-style program includes lectures in person and online (for those outside Tokyo) led by experienced executives and successful entrepreneurs. You’ll also gain hands-on experience in writing a business plan for a real project by a real company.
JMEC is a unique and long-standing training program in Tokyo that centers around a business plan writing competition. The dual objectives of the program are to strengthen the skills of up-and-coming executives, while assisting foreign companies doing business in Japan. JMEC is supported by 18 Chambers of Commerce in Japan and has been offering the program for the past 30 years.
The program is entirely in English and provides participants the opportunity to write an actual business plan focused on the Japan market. The top three teams win Finnair tickets to Europe, an HP tablet and membership to the ACCJ. The program costs ¥150,000 for a seven-month program.
Participants are Japanese and non-Japanese; the average age is 33. Please refer to the Participant section of this website for further details. The next JMEC program starts November 16, 2024 and the application deadline is October 15.
Attend one of our information sessions to learn more about the program and speak with alumni. Online and in-person info sessions for participants start on August 29, 2024. Potential applicants can find more information here:
