The Art of Movement: Yoga and Pilates for a Balanced Life

Nina is a certified yoga and Pilates instructor with a lifelong passion for movement and its profound impact on both physical and mental well-being. This passion led her to establish her own business, where she teaches yoga and Pilates to a diverse range of clients. Her journey with movement began at just three years old when she started classical ballet training. Over time, she integrated yoga and Pilates into her practice to enhance flexibility, core strength, and overall body awareness.

Recognizing the unique benefits of each discipline, Nina was inspired to share these practices with others. She officially launched her business in 2019 after obtaining her RYT200 yoga certification, followed by certifications in mat Pilates in 2022 and machine Pilates in 2024. Currently, she regularly teaches at studios such as Hot Yoga Studio LAVA and TSUTAYA Conditioning, while also being a brand ambassador for CW-X Yoga (Wacoal) and YOMOMENT. Nina has been featured in leading publications such as Yoga Journal Japan, Yoga & Fitness, and EURO BIZ JAPAN, and has also appeared on TOKYO MX TV.

Additionally, many business professionals attend her yoga and Pilates classes to alleviate stress and enhance concentration in their daily work lives.

Class sizes vary depending on the format and client preferences. Some students prefer small groups or private sessions, while others enjoy the energy of larger classes. Nina provides flexible options, allowing beginners to start with private or semi-private sessions before transitioning to group settings. Yoga and mat Pilates classes range from private sessions to group sessions of up to 40 participants. Machine Pilates is commonly offered as private or semi-private sessions, but she also teaches group classes of up to 20 participants.

Bringing People Together Through Yoga and Community

Bringing People Together Through Yoga and Community

By offering classes in Japanese, English, and Italian, Nina attracts a diverse community, including expatriates and international students. While many of her clients reside in Japan, her multilingual teaching approach enables her to connect with people from various cultural backgrounds. She has received significant interest from international clients, particularly for online and private sessions, making her classes inclusive and accessible to a global audience.

One of the unique aspects of her approach is making movement enjoyable. Nina integrates social elements into her sessions, creating engaging experiences that extend beyond fitness. She regularly organizes unique yoga events such as:

  • Wine Yoga – A yoga session followed by an organic wine tasting and a vegetarian dinner.
  • Café Yoga – A popular Sunday morning event at 8:30 AM, offering a refreshing start to the day.
  • Yoga & Dinner – A special yoga session held at a newly opened Italian restaurant in Tokyo, followed by a social dinner gathering.

These creative events attract individuals who might not typically attend traditional yoga classes, introducing them to yoga in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Nina strongly believes in the physical and mental benefits of yoga and Pilates. Enhancing strength, flexibility, and overall well-being has been at the core of her mission. In today’s fast-paced society, these practices are an ideal way for busy professionals to maintain their health and balance their demanding schedules.

Yoga and Pilates not only improve posture and core stability but also harmonize the mind and body, making them a perfect complement to any other physical activity, whether it be tennis, jogging, walking, futsal, or any other sport. By integrating yoga and Pilates into a regular fitness routine, individuals can experience enhanced endurance, flexibility, and injury prevention. Nina emphasizes that the mind and body are interconnected—when physical health declines, mental well-being is affected, and vice versa.
