Sounds of the Seas
Join SEGO Initiative on a fascinating audio exploration of the ocean with Dr Mayu Ogawa. Listen as she turns up the volume on the acoustic ocean and reveals a world we rarely get to hear.
Ms Ogawa is a marine bioacoustics researcher specializing in underwater sound and passive acoustic monitoring. She is a project researcher at the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, where she works on biological sound analysis and smart sensing technologies to better understand marine ecosystems. Her work includes developing methods to monitor marine mammals and assess the impact of noise on species such as finless porpoises, and she holds a Ph.D. from Kyoto University.
The session will be followed by a Q&A in English and Japanese.
