Join the Global Photo Walk with a Special Cause in Tokyo!

The largest annual worldwide Photo Walk social photography event with a cause will take place on October 5 in thousands of cities—including Tokyo.

The Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk has grown in size and popularity since the inaugural event in 2007. The concept of a Photo Walk is simple. Photo Walks are created by Walk Leaders in cities worldwide. Walkers meet up at a predesignated location to spend a few hours socializing, capturing images and sharing with like-minded people. At the end of the Photo Walk, most groups convene at local restaurants or bars to share their images over food and beverages.

“Photo walkers can upload their favorite picture to the Photo Walk contest for a chance to win one of 12 prizes from industry related sponsors,” said organizers. “Prizes have not been confirmed yet but are expected to include a camera, software licenses and membership, up to $750 worth of industry gift cards and camera bags.”

While Photo Walk is free for participants, the event supports The Springs of Hope Kenya Orphanage, which feeds, houses, educates and empowers young orphans so they can grow up to not just survive, but succeed. Mr. Kelby is asking that each walker donate to help make a difference in these children’s lives. “Every dollar counts,” he said.

Scott Kelby is a photographer, educator, and the owner and CEO of KelbyOne. Formerly The National Association of Photoshop Professionals and KelbyTraining.com, KelbyOne is now a leading resource for online creative and photography education worldwide.
