Despite Party Poopers, Tokyo Prepares to Scare with Horrifying Halloween Events

Looking for the perfect way to celebrate Halloween in Tokyo this year? The city comes alive with plenty of spooky seasonal events that are sure to get you, your friends and family into the Halloween spirit. Here’s a roundup of some of the exciting upcoming events happening in Tokyo this season.

New Rules for Shibuya and Shinjuku

Please note that there are new restrictions taking place ahead of this year’s Halloween celebrations. Shibuya and Shinjuku are banning street drinking on Halloween. In Shibuya, the ban will be enforced on October 26-31 in areas near Shibuya Station and the Scramble Crossing, with 185 guards patrolling on October 30-31. Shinjuku will enforce its ban from 5pm on October 31 to 5am on November 1 in Kabukicho 1-chome and Shinjuku 3-chome, with around 100 guards patrolling. Both wards are aiming to manage large crowds and maintain safety. If you’d like to enjoy a drink, make sure to head indoors to a bar or restaurant to stay safe and keep warm.

Despite these restrictions, there are still plenty of halloween events to enjoy around Tokyo.
